Know what’s inside.
Learn how identity, form, amount, evidence, and safety context shape useful ingredient information.
The current physical label and verified product record control for each product.
What to look for
-
Identity
The precise ingredient name and, where relevant, species, plant part, chemical identity, or source.
-
Form
The form, extract, carrier, standardization, or other detail that can change how research relates to the product.
-
Amount
For supplements, check serving size and amount per serving in the current Supplement Facts. For topicals, use the current ingredient list, net contents, directions, warnings, and other label information appropriate to that product.
-
Evidence
Look at the human population, ingredient form, amount, duration, outcome, and limitations. A mechanism or biomarker is not automatically a health outcome.
Safety context belongs with the product
Label warnings, medication and health-condition context, and reasons to seek professional advice are product specific. Ingredient education does not replace directions, warnings, or individualized advice.
Evidence in context
A mechanism describes a plausible process. A biomarker measures a signal. A human outcome asks whether people experienced a meaningful change. These are related but not interchangeable, and none alone establishes an effect on lifespan.
Ingredient versus formula
Research on an ingredient does not automatically establish the performance of a finished formula. Product-specific evidence must match the tested formula, amount, population, duration, and outcome.
Current records control
Supplier records and online information can vary by exact SKU and may be updated. Review the current physical label and the current product record together.
A supplier document does not by itself establish a current-lot result, finished-product clinical efficacy, every-batch testing, absence of every possible contaminant, or FDA approval.
Safe use
Review the physical label before use. If it materially differs from the online information, do not use the product until the current record is confirmed through Contact Us.
Seek qualified advice when medication, a health condition, pregnancy or nursing, or a planned procedure may be relevant.
